- Qualified trade-in servers include any HP e3000, Sun UNIX,
Intel-based, or AMD-based HP/Compaq or competitor servers with processor speeds ranging from 486 to
Pentium 300MHz and above.
- Eligible purchase ProLiant servers include the following:

Promotion overview |
|
|
- Obtain a quick estimate for your server trade-in by visiting HP's
online quote-tool. You will be asked
for details on your server trade-in and server purchase, your country of origin, and special pricing.
By following this three-step process, you will be shown your estimated trade-in cash back value
percentage for your base server.
- If you would like to proceed and obtain a formal ProLiant trade-in quote, please select "Proceed to
Quote Process".
- Review the program
Terms and Conditions.
- Upon the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, you will be taken to the registration page, which
will gather basic contact information.
- Provide additional details regarding your server purchase and trade-in. This information will be
summarized for your review and your potential** trade-in cash back amount will be supplied. If you
identified yourself as receiving special pricing, your server purchase and trade-in information will be
summarized along with your Big Deal number (if applicable).
- You will be taken to a final screen that will collect additional trade-in and purchase information for
cash back allowances on select internal options (if applicable). Once complete, click "Submit for
Quote."
- The trade-in and purchase information you submitted will be reviewed and validated by an HP
Program Administrator. Your final trade-in quote and confirmation email will be emailed to you within
3 business days from the date you completed the on-line process.
- Your quote and confirmation email will outline your trade-in cash back allowance along with instructions on how to
accept the quote and execute the trade. You will have 30 days to accept or reject the quote. If you do
not contact Trade-In Headquarters within 30 days, your quote will automatically be cancelled.
- If you accept the quote, complete the End User Information provided in the quote and confirmation
email. Fax a copy of the signed form to 770-925-9064, Attn: HP Server Trade-In Manual Quotes
Processing. This must be received within 30 days of receipt of the quote and confirmation email.
- Purchase or lease your eligible new HP ProLiant and HP Server Migration Pack - Universal Edition (if applicable).
Product must be purchased no earlier than 30 days before and no later than 90 days after the quote and confirmation email date.
- Within 90 days of receiving the quote and confirmation email, please fax a copy of the Invoice
confirming your new server purchase and purchase of HP Server Migration Pack - Universal Edition (if applicable)
to 770-925-9064, Attn: HP Server Trade-In Manual Quotes Processing. If your trade-in is an HP
e3000, please include a signed copy of the Software License Transfer (SLT). For Software License
Transfer (SLT) forms and assistance please visit http://www.hp.com/go/slt or call (408) 447-4185. Trade-In Headquarters
will contact you to coordinate pickup of trade-in equipment and pickup must be executed within 90 days from
submittal of the Invoice.
- Once the equipment is received, it will be inspected to see that it is in good working order. A physical
inventory will also be performed and the results compared to the product information that was
provided.
- If there are no discrepancies and the equipment meets program eligibility standards, a check will be
issued within 45 days upon receipt of the returned equipment. The check amount will reflect the
agreed upon cash back amount outlined in the quote and confirmation email and will be sent to you or
your authorized reseller.
*In order to legally move the OEM Microsoft Windows Server operating system purchased with the source server,
the customer must be up-to-date with the Microsoft Software Assurance maintenance plan with regard to the Microsoft Windows Server
operating system installed on their source server. For further information from Microsoft please visit
http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/programs/sa/default.mspx.
**Potential cash back values shown are estimates only. Actual cash back value may vary. The trade-in and purchase information
submitted will be reviewed and validated by an HP Program Administrator. The final trade-in quote and confirmation
email will be emailed within 3 business days from the date the on-line process was completed. Additional cash back for
the Upgrade To BladeSystem Trade-In Promotion will not be shown via the online quote tool. Values will be added after your
quote is submitted for review. If receiving special pricing on the new c-Class Blade being purchased, users may not
qualify for the entire trade-in cash back of 25% of the Internet List price depending on the pricing discount already
received. An analysis will be performed by the HP Program Administrator and the eligible amount will be included in
the trade-in quote and confirmation email.

Discrepancy resolution |
|
|
| Upon inspection, if it is determined that the equipment traded-in is not in good
working order or does not meet program eligibility standards, you will be notified and provided
with a modified trade-in cash back quote based on the condition of the equipment. If you accept, then
the new quoted trade-in cash back allowance amount will apply. If you decline, a recycling fee will be charged
or the equipment will be returned at your expense. HP Trade-In Headquarters will manage all discrepancies.
